The short version
Dig graves, bury coffins and collect Souls to repay Death. Turn your hard work into upgrades, hire a skeleton workforce, and watch a strange little cemetery start to run itself.
A little more detail
You owe Death. The repayment plan? Cemetery work. Bury the Debt is a cozy-spooky first-person automation game where you begin with a shovel, a stream of coffin deliveries and a lot to do by hand.
Dig graves, handle coffins and collect the rewards. Put those resources into upgrades and skeleton workers who gradually take over the repetitive digging, carrying and collecting. Progress grows out of the work you do in the cemetery.
Between portal deliveries, strange artifacts and a skeleton dog with a taste for your workforce's bones, the graveyard has a life of its own. Build towards a cemetery that increasingly runs itself—and a smaller debt to Death.

Start with manual digging, carrying and burial work. Collect rewards, hire skeleton helpers, and watch them take over. Repay Death at the soul well. Meet Whiskey, who enjoys bones, loses his head and steals from the staff. Grow a Moonbell, receive portal deliveries, and see the wider cemetery.
Dream job. No days off. No flesh either. Bury coffins. Collect the rewards. Nope. I’m not doing all of that. Hire some help. OOPS. They handle the work. Repay Death. Bones feed the good boy. Good boy pays in gold. Meet Whiskey. Good boy. Mostly. Wishlist on Steam.
